About
MISSION
To provide the most up-to-date, relevant local news to residents and business owners in the town of Amherst and Mont Vernon, New Hampshire.
THE NEED FOR NEWS
The Amherst Advocate was born out of a need for breaking and relevant news. There is currently no daily/hourly news source for either town except for word-of-mouth. Our society constantly craves relevant news and a local news website that updates throughout the day would likely be a useful destination.
Additional consideration is given to the shift in how our society gathers news. Statistics show newspaper readership has significantly declined and is continuing to struggle. Getting news online is free, faster, more up-to-date, easy to search, more relevant for to the reader and simple to share with others.
CONTENT
The focus of the Amherst Advocates content will be on news including: fires, road closures, car accidents, journalistic news coverage of local happenings, school news, sports and arts & living stories involving the two towns. An events calendar is be available and is home to local events from the many organizations in town, sporting events, parades, etc…
WRITERS
The Amherst Advocate is always looking for local writers to help keep readers informed. If you want to be part of the team, send an email to editor [at] amherstadvocate.com
OWNERSHIP
The Amherst Advocate is run by Lenwood Brown III and FixMedia.
