Bring along your favorite game and enjoy the afternoon challenging yourself and others at scrabble, dominos, bridge, pinochle or whatever game interests you. You are encouraged to bring along your game of choice and let’s see who gets the rubber chicken.

The Friday Afternoon Book Club, organized by the Friends of the Amherst Town Library, cordially invites new members and visitors to their June meeting on Friday, June 11th, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., in the Johnson Meeting Room downstairs at the Library. The group will be discussing a short novel by Elizabeth Berg, The Pull of the Moon. Copies of the book are available for loan at the Amherst Town Library. Guests and new members are invited to attend and to join in the discussion. In The Pull of the Moon, author Elizabeth Berg uses letters and diary entries to tell the story of 50-year-old Nan, who is coming to terms with her place in society as an older woman. The letters, written to her husband, attempt to explain her unplanned cross-country flight. For more information on the Friday Afternoon Book Club, please call Beth Blodgett, member of the Friends of the Amherst Town Library, at 673-2506.
